A birthday for two

Couples, best friends, and siblings often end up with birthdays months apart — one gets a summer party, the other a winter one, and there's never a day that belongs to both. The midpoint date fixes that: it's the day exactly halfway around the calendar between your two birthdays, and it comes around every year just like a birthday does.

It makes a good tradition: a dinner date that isn't an anniversary, a joint half-celebration, or just an annual excuse to split a dessert.

How the midpoint is found

Take both birthdays as dates within one year, count the days between them, and step forward half that distance from the earlier one. Because the calendar is a circle, there are technically two midpoints — one between the birthdays and one on the far side of the year. The calculator shows the near-side midpoint, the one that falls between your two celebrations.

The age gap, precisely

As a bonus, the calculator reports the exact gap between the two birth dates — in years, months, and days, and as a raw day count. It settles the "I'm older than you" argument with precision: not "about two years," but "787 days."

Frequently asked questions

What if our birthdays are the same day?

Then your midpoint is your birthday — congratulations, you're calendar twins. The age-gap figures will still show any difference in years.

What if the midpoint falls between two days?

When the gap between birthdays is an odd number of days, the true midpoint is a half-day; the calculator rounds to the earlier day.
